Shehu Sani Breaks Silence as EFCC Hands Over 753 Seized Duplexes from Emefiele to FG –

Former legislator Shehu Sani has commended the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) following its recent transfer of a 753-duplex housing estate associated with former Central Bank Governor Godwin Emefiele to the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development.

It is important to note that the EFCC officially handed over the seized property to the ministry’s headquarters in Mabushi, Abuja, on Tuesday.

The estate is reportedly situated in the Lokogoma district of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

In response to this development, the human rights advocate expressed his appreciation for the EFCC Chairman, Ola Olukoyede, via a tweet, highlighting the agency’s commitment to transparency.

Sani emphasized that the 753 housing units could have been illicitly auctioned to intermediaries in previous instances.

“The Ola Olukoyede handover of the 753 housing units seized from the ex CBN Boss to the Federal Housing Authority is one of the most unprecedented transparent processes that has happened in Nigeria’s anti corruption history. In the past, it would just have been dubiously auctioned to proxies,” he said.
